The ownership history of the house includes about 16 families, with Hennrietta and Hedley Patey having the longest tenure from 1907 to 1945. They contributed some of the major improvements to the house over the years as seen in the houses history at City Hall. Allyn Rule owned the home from 1963 to 1975. She had a letter published in Science about the challenges of being a female scientist.
